Avocado Toast
Ingredients
- 2 ripe avocados
- 4 slices whole grain bread
- 1 tbsp lemon juice
- 1/2 tsp sea salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- Optional toppings:
- Cherry tomatoes, halved
- Red pepper flakes
- Feta cheese, crumbled
- Microgreens
- Poached or fried eggs
Instructions
- Prepare the Avocado:
- Cut the avocados in half, remove the pits, and scoop the flesh into a bowl.
- Add the lemon juice, sea salt, and black pepper to the bowl.
- Mash the avocado mixture with a fork until it's creamy but still slightly chunky.
- Toast the Bread:
- Toast the slices of whole grain bread until they are golden brown and crispy.
- Assemble the Avocado Toast:
- Spread the mashed avocado evenly onto each slice of toasted bread.
- Add any optional toppings you desire, such as cherry tomatoes, red pepper flakes, feta cheese, microgreens, or a poached/fried egg.
- Serve:
- Serve the avocado toast immediately.
